Client: Digitale Verwaltung Kanton Thurgau
Role: Research Lead, UX UI Designer, Illustrator
Year: 2024
In the realm of digital transformation, the Swiss Canton Thurgau introduces a digital service and administration portal designed to serve its diverse community. This platform offers a wide range of services, from routine tasks like certificate requests to more substantial endeavors such as scholarship applications. Over the past two years, I closely accompanied this project from its inception to the inaugural launch in 2024.
Throughout the conception phase, my role was pivotal in shaping user understanding and conducting research. The challenge was to bring the platform closer to accessibility and open-mindedness while preserving the traditional values of the Canton. Having laid out the user understanding, our focus shifted to creating digital branding, wireframes, and hierarchy structures. During this phase, we initiated the development of components for the UI library with comprehensive guidelines, contributing significantly to one of Switzerland's largest design systems.
Following an initial testing phase, our journey continued with the creation of high-fidelity prototypes for the platform, ensuring a carefully thought-out user journey based on UX principles. Leveraging our research about the identity of Thurgau and the established visual language, I took charge of all the illustrations.
Our design team collaborated closely with the development teams and stakeholders, guided by our shared vision to establish a design system for a platform truly crafted for all citizens of Canton Thurgau.
